New air cleaner???

Was looking into getting this new air cleaner............

http://www.mcadvantages.com/index.cf...,27,63,359,358

Anyone have one or see one on a bike? I love the way it will look with the V&H Big Radius. Alittle $$$ though.
Thanks

A velocity stack is not an air cleaner - no a/c will ruin your motor - may be hard to tune too...

I'd hate to catch my leg on it.

Gotta go with tireater on this. Unless there is something not readily visible here that makes up an air cleaner on that thing your motor is toast.

If you scroll down and read about it, they say it comes with its own custom air cleaner for it.

Does anyone wonder why drag bikes have velocity stacks that point straight out...?
Forward facing air scoops can cause tuning issues - unless you can figure out how to bring wind to the dyno...

Tireater,
I know I need a air cleaner, that is common sense.
I was looking for input on the performance, looks, etc.

George C,
Thanks. I think it will look great too.

Monstermile,
I hear ya on that. I would have to be real careful.

machinist,
See tireater comment.............

wildey,
Thanks for the GREAT info. I appreciate it.

I will be looking more into it and see what my local indy guys say about it.
Thanks for all the GREAT info.

Too radical for my tastes, especially on a standard HD. Might look good on a custom chopper though

Question What the hell.......???

Tireater, not hassling man but that last comment you made about drag bikes and forward facing airscoops causing tuning issues is a crock of s**t!! The reason drag bikes dont use forward facing velocity stacks is because they have larger volume and are open mouthed with no mesh inside to disrupt airflow on such high hp engines. No mesh means no way of stopping debris and muck from the drag strip being blown into the intake of the motor, potentially causing failure, hence the reason they face sideways, less chance of debris entering the open mouth of such a large volume velocity stack. One of the best performing aircleaners on the market today is the Pro-R Hypercharger from Kuryakyn, the newest model hypercharger with.... wait for it... forward facing open airscoops in the front, and at the trapdoor area on the side (facing forward). It has mesh, to stop debris and an air filter element, just like the one here. Before you pass judgement, make sure you have your facts right. Just sayin!!

FWIW, I have seen a forward-facing air scoop cause tuning issues at the track on a 9-second drag bike. Best guess was that the high speed air was causing turbulence in the float bowl. Regardless, going with a regular side-facing air scoop solved the problem.

I have heard the same thing on tuning drag bikes....forward facing intakes causes problems....
It is also the reason Hypercharger gives for the slot in the back..WHY DON'T THEY USE "RAM AIR?"
Sounds like score 1 for me - and I picked Rampage....GONNA BE A GOOD DAY...!

Before you chastise him for having his facts wrong...can you post some data that shows us the Hypercharger is one of the best performing aircleaners on the market?

I'd like to see it....cause I don't buy it. I think at best the Hypercharger is the same as the rest.

Actually someone posted good HC info on another thread...andno - they are not the best thing sliced bread....
The stock Hypercharger costs you power over 90 hp....
Bigger is better...feels like my Ness BS 2 got more power and the motor rolls on much better now...
