Ape Hanger for '04 Heritage Softail Classic

How hard is it to change my Heritage Handle Bar to an Ape Hanger?

What do I need to get to make the change?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so I probably have to remove the gas tank to rewire all the electricals. Hmmmm. Then those brake lines and clutch cables. Ok, it sounds fine so far.

Thanks.

My dealer said with all parts and labor, it would be around $1500 to put apes on my bike. Parts were around a grand if I remember correctly.

After sitting on a heritage with some big ass apes I changed my mind.

Ape hangers...

$1,500 to change bars, cables, and wiring is absolutely rediculous.

You were being charged optimum prices for the parts, and no telling how many hours of labor.

Do it yourself, it's no big deal, especially if you don't run the wring through the bars. You should easily be able to do the whole job for under $500 or much less.

Honestly though, I don't care for apes on any bike.

Yeah, Canadian prices going through HD dealer would be the most expensive way to go. I'm sure if a guy were to shop online better deals could be found.
