Because white is the absence of black.

White is cool, but I have always been partial to black. I have a buddy with a body shop so if the silver doesn't work then it's back in black for me.

I was too. The FXR is LineX brand, but the fairing and top of the back fender on the Dyna is spray can bedliner from AutoZone. It is textured, but not as heavy as LineX. Holds up really well to my camping gear. I try to hit few bike rallies or races and camp out every chance I get.

I do ... though I prefer PoPo Birch White. Had a white '83 FLHP back in mid '80s then had it re-done in police Black/White for a spell.

Opinions on the color will be greatly appreciated.

I keep coming back to that front fender. I think you trimmed it perfectly. Do you know what brand it is? The ridges really match the stock rear fender.

The color is not so important. So long as it shines well, with the decals and pinstripes nice and blended smooth, or even deleted. It'll look good.

But then as I think about it. If you rode more and looked less, the paint wouldn't really mater at all.

I marked a perfect center on it, and used the original front half towards the rear. It is 16" from the center to the rear, and the original mark I put for the cut was done by eye, and turned out to 14 1/2" to the front. I got the fender off eBay. It's a West Coast choppers "48". The lines of it match perfect to the stock rear that's what drew me to it the most.

And this one shows the length before I cut it

I can't agree with this more, but I've always been more about function rather than form. I used to joke about my bike being a show bike " the one that showed up every where". At over a 100k miles and many times of being rode hard and put up wet it was time to show her some love.
