I can buy that thing for prolly $600. The more I look at it, the more I think I want it.

Probably a good deal at $600. 5-6 years ago I knew a lady that had a '75 or '76 SS-250.
I was always trying to get her to sell it to me. She insisted it was worth $10,000, when it was really worth about $1500. I kept offering her $800 and found out later she sold it for $600. I saw it again about a year ago and the newest owner said he paid $1800, and seemed happy that he got a great deal!
I have seen some of the older Sprints going for 5-10 grand, restored of course.

That looks a lot like my first bike, a 1967 Suzuki X6 Hustler. Is that what it is or another Suzuki from that era? Was I destined to ride an FXR?

Tighten up there, Michael! You don't think someone would have the guts to put Harley-Davidson graphics on the gas tank of a Suzuki do you?!!
Seriously though, if memory serves me, Yamaha helped design this.

The 2 strokes from the 60's & 70's, and there were a lot of models, as well as the 350 4 stroke single were made in Italy by (sp) Aerimicchi.

I just looked on ebay for H-D Sprint parts. They are very numerous and prices are more than resonable.
It looks like a good time to start a new hobby...before someone start's an "Elvis' Sprint Heaven".

The ss250 was all Aermacchis. Even the AMF stickers were made overseas.
My cousin got a sx250 in 75-76ish for Christmas. It was one real slow dirt bike, not even close to the Asian scooters. I'll never forget the look on his face when he got it. Only time I ever saw someone disappointed with a gift scooter. The rest of the family had YZ's, TM's, and Huskies. IIRC it was dependable, just real slow.

Let me rephrase that. The later model engines were based on a Yamaha design. Not, " Yamaha helped design this ".
I guess my memory didn't serve me well! At least I remembered Yamaha in there somewhere.

How much would you pay for a FXRD that needs a paint job. Bags tour pak lowers inner fairing and gauges all look to be in great shape. Been sitting 4 years???

FXRD was 1986 only-- rarity a good thing.
You'll probably never find FXRD pipes-- rarity a bad thing.
Tell us more about it.

seems high. is that all that's wrong with it? I would also post this question in the FXR section, not the picture section.

gretsch58 is right-- it sounds a little high, but we still don't know enough about it.
He's also right that you should go downstairs with this.
