There are 2 FXR stands, different lengths.
Personally, I think you're better off with a too short factory piece than a longer aftermarket piece, if that's what happened.
Why'd he change it out?

The difference in these two pictures is what I was referring to in my previous post.
This first pic is how it sits on the stand now:
This second pic is how it should sit on the stand but without having to "play with it a little bit":

Hey, Does your current stand have a upper spring? I didn't notice one in your pictures. I know later FXR's have the upper spring, not sure on your year and model. Your stand should not move that far forward. Not good.

It's for sale because it will punch thru hot asphalt in 5 minutes, and mounting so far back, the bike can go over pretty easily if it digs in. Also note the part that replaces the swing arm mount cover doesn't have pins like stock.
But if you want one, I'll sell it cheap!

It does have a spring yes, from the little i was able to see, it looks the mount is getting rounded off and worn out, my bike has 80,000 miles on it and its from 1982. I only know about the last 6 years of the bikes history. and do you remember where that other stand mounted too? Ive been trying to find out with no luck.

So you should have 2 springs. one on top and one on the bottom that is more visible. correct?
The other stand mounts just in back or behind the primary by the swing arm.

I dont think i like that idea of having it mount there, doesnt seem like a stable place... And it has just one spring.

You should have a spring on top like this pictured. I'll bet your buddy didn't re-install it when he changed the jiffy stand. It's a bitch to get to.

I don't know for sure which ones did and which ones did not. That's why I was asking. why did he replace your stand in the first place?
