1991 fxr oil sight glass question

I'm just finishing up building my 1991 fxrp and the oil sight glass is destroyed. I know its obsolete so I'm looking into different options. Could anyone tell me what they have used to fix this problem. Or better yet give me the diameter and thread so I could have one made. Thanks pics to follow when I get a chance. Thanks

Have a large brass bolt in my '91

Plug it... I never use it as I cannot see the oil level so use the dip stick instead.

I'm realizing plugging it is probably the only option but I can't find anything that threads into it. Is it fine,coarse,standard,metric,pipe thread? Any ideas? I actually found a place that makes sight glasses for machinery but I need the thread and don't have anything that big to measure. Thanks
