Welcome to the "cult". I too have ridden for a long time and just recently came to my senses and bought a FXR. There is a wealth of information here that you'll be able to take advantage of.

pics
there it is bought it from 2nd owner who gave me owners manual, parts manual ,bike cover, battery charger, plus a binder with every mod he had ever done to it.it has aprox 40k on it with a new top end 7 k ago.screaming eagle ignition conversion SE intake with a 44 mm cv carb, thunder star whl on frt.he has since dropped off a few more parts and just sent me a message the other day wanting to know if I want the original hard bags and fairing from it.
I did have to do a little bit of work to it had a few minor oil leaks that where just bugging me.I am down to one leak which I think is a trans input seal not going to worry about that one for a bit.Next thing I have to repair is frt fork seals and bushings

Thanks Michael I love it when we first went an looked at it the guy rolls it out of the garage saying "its kind of dirty from sitting" well there was more dirt on my boots then on this bike.He lit it up an my Wife says "You got to buy this bike"
So I did lol the guy really maintained this bike and has since phoned or messaged me several times to be sure I am happy.I had been riding it on longer an longer trips before winter shut me down for the year.So know it sits in my garage waiting for spring.I have a 81 Ironhead sporty that has sat in the corner since I got this FXR.I had been looking for a while for something newer(1995 an up) but as soon as I seen this one I had to have it

Looks nice. 44 mm carb seems big unless the motor has really had some work done. I would jump at the chance to get the fairing and bags, even if you don't want to run them you could recoup some of the cost of buying the bike.

Very nice. Yes, do get the luggage. AND all the mounts and hardware.
Don't tell anyone, but I'll send you TWO FXR Cult Secret Decoder Rings if you put the luggage back on it.

I never got my decoder rings. Please ship them ASAP in stock bags and I'll ride up to pick up the fairing

Absolutely get the fairing and bags. Especially the fairing. That fairing is GREAT at high speed and in cold weather.

What yogin said.
And make sure to use all 4 mounts, or the fairing will self-destruct.
