I cant get past that paintjob...nicely executed airbrush work but looks like it needs to be hung on the lodge wall, not on a HD.

Only thing I'm interested in is those Convertible saddlebags.

You don't see many that nice!

Yep, kinda reminds me of my Grandmother's Currier & Ives dinner plates. Definitley one of a kind, with limited appeal except to the guy that had it painted.

That was my reaction, too.

Too much money. It's bob tailed and got the wrong tank on it, probably aftermarket like the fender. With all the work done to it, I'd bet it got a new speedo at the same time.

Real pretty. It's a nice enough show bike, and it has the bags with it. But I'm in the $5500 range on it. Hard to tell, but it looks like the air fork system is gone. forks appear to be high mounted in the trees.

All in all, it's worth someone putting some eyeballs on it. Looks to be from a dealer, so a test ride might be arranged. Anybody live near it?

Probably not a Convertible. My guess is he added bags.

Engine looks painted. Thought Harley started powder coating them in '92.
Anyone know for sure?

Bike is offered by a dealer about 25 miles from me. I agree with the paint. It would have to go.
Thanks for the comments on the tank, new metal, forks and engine paint? job.

May take a ride up and look at it.

I must be missing something here. At $6900 dollars you're pay for a paint job that nobody seems to like. To get it right you'll need to completely dismantle the bike to repaint or powdercoat the frame. The wheels would also have to be redone, not to mention replacing the tank and rear fender.

How much do you think you'd have invested in it by then?

I'm with Thermodyne, $5500 tops. And that's if you really love it like it is!

Anyone that would pay $6900 for that bike and then redo it, has more money then sense.

Did anyone read the discription? Pretty 'salesman like'... cheesy.

"Plant your feet on either mid-mount controls or highway pegs".
Looks to me like it has forward controls.

Ya, It is for sale by a dealer who has "We buy Bikes" right on the same ad.

Someone should call him up and offer $4900 for it. When he balks, pick it apart, just to see how much he'll move on it.

Besides the paint on this one, the straight pipes would have to go. When I got my FXR it came with straight pipes, couldnt stand the sound. Went with Vance and Hines, looked and performed better!

I agree. Quieter pipes also helps to be nice to your neighbors.

That's why one scooter just isn't enough.

Usually I'm fairly conservative these days. But every now and again I still feel the need to piss the neighbors off.
