FXR on 'Pawn Stars'

Did anyone see 'Pawn Stars' last night? Big Hoss (pleeease) bought Chumlee an '85 FXRS for his birthday. They've been telling Chumlee he can't go to Sturgis with them this year, so the bike's a double surprise.

They had Danny from 'Count's Customs' evaluate the bike. Those guys were throwing so much praise at FXRs it was almost embarrassing, except that it was so well deseved.

Yeah, Chumlee's pissed, but will no doubt be in a foregiving mood when presented with the bike. Got to get that oil leak fixed first!

I've got to catch that in reruns. How much did they pay for an 85 FXRS?

The guy wanted $10,500. My part-timer's is kicking in 'cause I already forgot the selling price (that's the part I hate worst about aging, the potholes in my memory). I think it sold for $5500 or $6500.

It was basically stock looking, and pretty clean. It had a 2-1 pipe, S&S carb, and RevTech motor.

Joe, Cory tried to get it for 5.5k, but ended up giving 6.5k for it. Probably a little low, I think I'd of held at 7.5k, but the guy asking 10.5k was out of sight. Was a nice looking specimen. . . .

They often try to get stuff way below what it's worth. Now I realize they are in business to make profit and they deserve to make profit but sometimes they go beyond profit to whatever term you want to use. Then again, the person doesn't have to accept. Then again, the person may have no real idea and they sneak one past the person. Then again, the person should have become informed first. Then again, it's gone from then to now and it's time for a glass of juice and a show to fall asleep watching.

Hoss paid more for the bike than I would have. He's not reselling it otherwise he would have pushed the guy lower.
Wait and see until Danny from Counts gets done fixing that oil leak he'll have $10,500 in it.

Chumlee just might propose to Hoss when he gets this gift.

Really makes it hard to justify $6500.

You are describing the essence of capitalism, buy low, sell high. Where is the problem?

I don't know squat about the older bikes, but did you notice that when the owner fired it up the first time and they were showing the exhaust pipes that a bolt head was spinning( looked to be swingarm).

There is no problem per se. I just don't agree with offering $200 for an item worth $1000 minimum and probably more. They will do that any chance they get. I won't operate in business that way. I won't screw over anyone on either side of a business deal whether it's a customer or whether it's a dealer when I'm buying a car or a bike or anything else.

You're right. Thanks. Cory was another memory pothole. I couldn't think of his name.
