I doubt it , FXR shocks have an offset eye on them.

I did

Off of a somethin' or other geezer glide of sorts. 12.5" eye to eye, not misaligned at all. I put the schrader valves in, got em at Napa.

I love it how some HD owners think that if it's not originally on their bike there's no way in hell it'll work. Those are the same people who spend more on chrome than gas in a year.

Agree.... I have a set of 2009 Dyna shocks on my 86 FXR. Way nicer than the old original ones.

Anyone have an opinion who makes the shortest, plushest shocks?
I have short Works shocks and they are very stiff.

Plush and short do not go together.

But if I must answer your question I'd get the air shocks like I have only in the shortened version. I think they're 11.75"

Harley Davidson

Actually I think Showa makes them for HD, technically.

Just type in Harley Air Shocks on ebay.

Burly Brand makes a 10.5" shock. I don't know how plush they are though. Also proggressive makes good shocks. I have 11.5" on my FXR.

Take care with going low!

I went there and lasted about a month as I kept scrapping on corners all the time which gets real expensive real fast.

+1!!!
lowering an FXR is sacrilege IMHO!!!. The best thing about an FXR is the handling, why anyone would want to compromise that (and the safety benefits that go with it) is beyond me! In fact I went the other way and raised mine by 1" and the handling is even better, nothing comes close to ever scraping no matter how far I lean into a corner. If you are worried about looks over performance you are either very shallow, very vain, very stupid or all three. IMHO of course

Interesting. I was interested in trying those too. Did you try adjusting them? I agree short and plush don't go together, but I've always been able to find a balance. Plus, for what Works charges, I'd expect a little more. I run Progressive's 11" 412's on mine and haven't been able to get a good ride out of them.

That's a pretty strong blanket statement, but we're all entitled to our opinion's. Even more so on the internet…

I'm only 5'9" and I like to be flatfooted when I put my feet down, not on my tippy toes…fwiw/jmo
