He has a Chopper Guys FXR frame with a Supertrapp "high" 2into1 exhaust. High here doesn't mean way up high just more tucked in and a slight upsweep to the muffler. Everything else is just all tucked in tight, including a custom kickstand. 18" rear Sun alloy wheel and a 19"er on the front. I'll try to attach a pic of his bike.
Looking at that bike I am jealous looks like can handle the kind of leans an FXR was designed for .. Heres a couple pics of my left footpeg and whats left of the muffler clamp bolt with the proper length sitting beside it .. Didn't bother trying to show the nut because it was all but gone, had to use vicegrips to remove the nut ..

Thinking the Progressive route myself .. although still on the fence because Ohlins sure sound sweet for the FXR design ..

Progressive 418's 12.5" from ebay (used, $150.00), I like them very much. I wouldn't mind going 13" as I scrape stuff at times. I'm 175 pounds and ride solo. I would like to try the Ohlins or Works shocks, but my cheapness prevents me.

pwmorris is reading this now saying WTF is this?
Only run Works Performance on my FXR's.
They set the shocks up for your riding style, load, bike dimensions, and requested ride height.

Sportster shocks up to 2003 will fit FXR's. From 2004 on the Sporty shocks use a wider bushing. The fitment list on the 413's even list FXLR's from '88 to '94, you're good to go.

I ave a FXLR and was under the assumption that FXR and FXLR shocks were interchangeable, so I was wondering what you meant by
"...even list FXLR"?
Am I wrong?

How long are those? FXR 'handling' shocks are longer than FXLR 'styling' shocks.

Yes, FXR, FXLR, and FXRS use 12.5'', the Convertibles, -Sp, RT, and RP use 13.5'', but all are interchangeable. I believe the pre '87 shocks which were more upright were .5'' shorter stock.

Been wondering with the shocks being on an angle what difference a inch longer or shorter makes in ride height. Thinking in the 1/2+ range.

Same in the front factory 2" over fork tubes difference in ride height over stock.
