I have decided that the original question *Can an FXR be Bobbed" has been answered. As a matter of fact, I think that the bobbed examples I have seen are superior to the average bobbed motorcycle!

I'm with you Joe. Give me the bike, I'll throw away the frame and aluminium bodywork, and transfer the rest to my FXRS-CON. Then again, maybe not. I might just buy a cheap used FXR and transfer everything to that.

Agreed. With the Bobber, less is more. Less can be done well or poorly. We have a number of examples of it being done well, and a few poor. Quality is high overall. I would be happy riding a number of the bikes here.

You're right, some of the best I've seen. It probably doesn't hurt that they started with a superior motorcycle.

A bobbed FXR isnt a bad idea as long as it does'nt compromise the handling of the greatest bike Harley ever produced

I think Eric Buell summed it up when he said "this bike handles like no other Harley ever"!

That's right- don't mess with the frame...
All those aftermarket 'FXR' frames that're 'FXR' only because they're rubber mount.
That aluminum 'fxr' earlier this week- it at least incorporated the triangle, but the backbone was sh**. Looked like my bud's '96 DWG.

That is a bad a^% looking bike, the bike Mickey Rourke rode in Harly Davidson and the marlboro man movie was pretty sweet also.

Or some anti-collision lights. I doubt an ultralight could clear those things.

I'm currently making my FXR into a bobber. I cut about 6" of the frame behnd the strut. It's a just an open tube and I don't want it to get rusted out. What do you put at the end of a frame on the FXR?
