Aftermarket fairing for an FXR?

I need one if i end up buying a 1989 FXR SP.
What does the SP stand for BTW? I thought i knew about FXR's. i dont know as much as i should.

So, with 124 inch S&S crate moter, that equals about 130hp. Not huge number but good for triple digit speeds, especially when he has a 6 speed geared for top end...one tooth smaller compensating sprocket.

Unless I have some protection i feel like i am constantly going to be ripped off a bike when i hit 80 or 90mph. Over 100mph and you REALLY are wanting a big fairing or windscreen.

My absolute favorite is an FXRT windscreen, but they are rare and need to be fitted to special mounts and a weird head light arrangement.

So, their are plenty wind screens out there for any size bike. But i prefer a fairing.

Who still makes a fairing for FXR's? Corbin? Vetter? I like a HIGH windscreen or an option to fit a High windscreen.

I i get the bike and slap some S&S "D" heads on it, all bets are off. I will definitely need wind force protection.

But are any guys REALLY happy with some of the larger windscreens available out there. If a fairing is unavailable then that is the way i will have to go.

I have the H-D one on mine i think they call it the sport fairing. You can order it from your local H-d dealer. Arlen ness still offers one to but you have to make your own mounting brackets for it. i ride my bike fast & do the triple digits often & it does help with wind & looks much better than a whindshield does.

I use a Rifle Roadster fairing on mine. Good looks, good fit and good hardware. You can
order any size windshield you like. Just Google " Rifle " roadster faring.

SP = Sport, officially the Low Rider Sport Edition.

The bike already has a bikini faring a tad smaller than the Rifle Roadster. Both of those are tiny! I am a big guy. I need more protection.

I cant find the Harley Fairing Bigfriggiono was talkin about.

Corbin makes on for a Dyna that looks nice. It could no doubt be adapted with custom mounts.

Below is the tiny bikini fairing the bike has already

small windshields...

Don't believe H-D offers the 'sport lexon' windshield anymore.
Have had mine for 15yrs.....foolproof, tough, and although small, works very well.
Sometimes seen on e-bay, but the lower mounting holes are diffrent for the Dyna.
They are good if you can find one....

yes. Google shows t. But it is a big wind sheild, not a fairing. I think the corbin is the one. very pricey though...

Hope ya can see the little windshield in the picture...

That's my 1987 FXRS-SP when I bought it.

80-90 MPH ain't gonna feel like you're gonna get ripped off the bike without wind protection. Triple digit speeds may though...

But, that little shield was easy on, easy off and it did a pretty good job of blocking the wind, rain, etc. I'm pretty sure you can pick one up in just about any after-market catalog for about $100.00 (+/-)

I saw a FatBoy with a quick detachable batwing fairing that looked really good. The owner of the bike said he paid around $200 for the fairing and got it out of the drag specialties Fatbook. Don't know if this is it or if you can modify it to fit a narrow glide. I think it's a good price for a batwing.

Don Camillo wants to know Dino or Syn?
I like H-D Quarter Fairing. Arlen Ness had also a fairing for FXR but it was quite expensive (and some user overe here said it`s quality was poor).

Oh, nice find! i know these guys. I actually have a brief windsheild (the Demon) from them that is currently on the bike. It is too small. I never thought they made bigger fairings. I should have looked.
Christ! This same fairing in a Corbin is 1200vs 200 bucks fro the MS.. Well, not exactly the the same, but i like the Memphis Shades one just fine. i am sure they can make it fit. Thanks much!
