Question FXR wide glide speedo drive help!!

I just bought a complete wide glide front end from a 1998 I'm not sure if it's from a softtail or a fxdwg. My problem is the speedo drive. The new front has a 21" wheel which I have now and there is a notch in the rotor but no drive, just a 1' spacer. Can I use my existing drive and cut down the existing wg spacer or make a spacer to take up the distance between the fork and the rotor? Any suggestions?? Also any wiring suggestions? I was going to move the indicator lights from the brow to the console. I have the model with the speedo and gas cap in the dash. I have a 86 fxr, EVO .60 over Keith black pistons, ev59cam, ss carb, ss super stock ported heads, great bike! Really agonized about the front end and may put it on and hate it cause I love the way she handles now! Love those fxr's.

I saw an ad for (I think) Custom Chrome, they sell an adapter that will allow you to use a later-model electronic speedo without modifications to the transmission. Sorta like the magnetic pick-up on a bicycle speedo. I remember the price being less than $100.00...

I've been running mine without a speedo for around 5 years. Never had a problem...

Speedo Drive

I had my front wheel changed from a 19" to 21" and it took me months to figure out that the idiot that did the work never bothered to do anything about the drive. ( He no longer touches my bike). I'm converting to electronic now so I may have a 21" drive available if you still need.
