A really cool bar!

Hey FXR people..I just got done adding a set of ebay heritage softail bars to my '85 fxr.... just to let you know I AM an FXR purist..I love the bikes in there stock form and function, however after 3 back surgeries, I needed something a little different for distance travel. This did work for me... made a huge difference and actually looks awsome..everyone is different shape and sizes..but I just wanted the folks to know how it worked out for me.

I'm readin' you, brother. I recently changed from the buckhorns, which I kinda like, to a set of (I think) mini-apes from a buddy of mine. I just took a 160-mile ride yesterday, and just loved the riding position. I think big apes are friggin' ridiculous, but these suckers are awful comfortable.

Ran into a guy at the dealership yesterday (buying a Harley button-up shirt for my upcoming wedding - long story!) who had a Crossbones with a set of narrow beach bars in place of the mini-apes that come stock. Looked great, and the guy said it was way more comfortable to him.

Everyone is diffurnt...

I had a set of Fat boy bars on my FXR when I bought it, great relaxed riding position and as I'm 6' 4" with long arms it was perfect. When I got home (after 400 miles run in heavy rain) I found I couldn't get it to the workshop in my garden up the side of the house ............. ended up for six months keeping it under cover at work which meant a round trip drive of 28 miles everytime I took it out .............. That was how much I liked the bars. Now got a custom made set fitted, an inch narrower than the distance between the house walls. I might even move house just to refit them as riding position is compremised.
