Dyna pipes on an FXR?

Found a sweet deal on a set on Bub's for a 91-94 Dyna. PN# 05-1093c is what they tell me, though I can't find it on Bub's website.

Nice looking pipes. Wondering if anyone knows if they could be made to work on an 85 FXRS?

Been looking at exhausts lately and noticing that the offerings for FXR's are already slim. But also that most applications start at 87-up...

Why is that? I'm guessing the early style tranny cover with the leaver, instead of the later cable style?

Hi Ripsass,
The difference was, that the early FXR's up to '86 had the rear exhaust bracket mounted on to a rubber donut mount on an extension of the frame behind the passenger footpeg. From '87 onwards the rear exhaust bracket was mounted to the tranny cover, similar to the Dyna's. As far as fitment is concerned, the only thing you need to worry about is whether they are made for forward or mid controls and whether it suits which ones you have. Most Dyna pipes will fit on an FXR, sometimes with minimal modifications required, you just need to fabricate some mount brackets usually.

Thanks.
I'm having trouble locating the pipes on Bibs site with the PN the guy gave me for them.
Guessing the must be discontinued, but he said they were for 91-94 Dyna's which seems to be the easiest to retro fit to the FXR's from what I'm reading.

They look great so I think I'll give them a try.
