Turn signal on 89 FXLR

I'm having a problem that is driving me crazy. My left signal will sometimes not flash at all. Then it does the complete opposite. Meaning when you hit the switch nothing happens sometimes, running lights just stay on steady. Then other times as soon as you turn on the ignition key the light flashes and won't stop. You can hit the right switch and its fine during either scenario. You guys have any idea what I can look at? I assume the flasher and bulbs are good because they work fine either flashing or as running lights. Maybe the switch? If it turns out the switch is bad can it be replaced or do I need to start looking for a whole left switch cluster? Is there some kind of self cancel mechanism that might be screwed up?

I had the exact same thing happen on my first fxr,,,it ended up being the turn signal module.

Yeah I downloaded a wiring diagram and from what I can tell the module is the problem. Once it dried out it was fine but I guess this is a warning for me to look for a new one. Any ideas where to find something like that?
