I have seen one, but, it begs the question-WHY? Some may disagree, but the way I see it if you want an FXR then buy an FXR, but if you want an EG or RK, then buy one of them!!, its a heck of a lot cheaper (all those fairings and hard bags and stuff aint cheap to buy by themselves), and you aint wrecking a good FXR in the process. In fact IMHO (and I dont mean any insult to anyone who rides one here, I am sure they are great bikes to those that love them, but I just dont like them myself, I think they are the Fugliest thing on 2 wheels), I wouldnt even buy one of them ugly looking FXRT things with the big awkward bulbous looking fairing and panniers and s**t, you may as well just go the whole hog and buy an EG which has way more luggage space and stuff, and is at least better looking.

Nothing personal to those that own them, but the FXRT was a hidious looking bike, to me.
You could hang a wideglide front on it, but it'll always have that signature FXR frame.

I've seen pics of FXRs with RG fairings and with FL bags. I've even got a set of FL bags and mounts I decided not to use on mine. It's just a matter of fabbing mounts.

You didn't insult me or offend me for that matter......but why would you be spending any time reading anything in the FXR section if you didn't have an appreciation for them? So I am not offended or insulted but perhaps confused....LOL....But then again some people think porsches are ugly while others think the corvette is ugly as well.....
With the right wheels, right shocks, and handle bars, FXR's can look really sleek and have a great stance, with alterations of the above they can be just as hidious looking as any road king or eg or any bagger for that matter.
As for handling and performance, if a person is 5' 7" to 5' 11" the bike can be as comfortable as any touring framed bike....outside of those heights and it becomes a person's personal taste.....I would also state that the FXR is perhaps a bit more suited to one up riding while two up riding is of course an option as well.....and no one should confuse anything within the "Dyna Family" as being representative of what the FXR family of bikes has to offer in terms of handling and/or performance...they are simply different bikes with different characteristics......
As for making a FXR resemble that of a touring bike/road king with road king fiberglass bags, the FXR does have the option of having leather bags attached to it which become quick detatchables with the right hardware, time investment to find the parts along with some needed patience.

Hi Classic,
Maybe you didnt read my reply properly, or maybe I didnt make myself clear, or something, I dont know, because if you look closer you will see I DO ride and FXR, I absolutely love FXR's, I am FXR through and through, and will be keeping mine for many years yet. BUT, I am afraid I absolutely cant stand the FXRT, I am just being honest here, I think they are the most hideous looking bike ever to come out of the MoCo. I dont say that as a personal indictment on those that like them or ride them or anything, and to those that do, thats great, I am sure they are great for you, but they are just not my cup of tea. Heck, a lot of people dont like my bike either, and if they so as much, its no biggie for me, I have broad shoulders, as I think most people around here do, and I applaud peoples honesty in saying so, if they dont like it.

ahhhh yes I do see now that you are riding an 86 FXRS by looking more closely at your "signature" line......and also see that your comments now were more reflective of the FXRT model specifically.....Nods...and you were right, I was confused....and thought you were referring to FXRs in general.
Alrighty back to our regularly scheduled "THREAD".
and for what it's worth....I don't own one either....(FXRT).....laughing!
