Thunderheader Pipe

Has anyone successfully mounted one of these on a 93-94' without major mods? According to the individual I spoke with at Rich Products the pipe does not fit the late model FXRs. On their website #1016 is indicated for center pegs and #1019 for forward controls which I have. I'd like to buy one of these but received nothing but negativity regarding the installation of this pipe on an FXR.

I have several brothers with thunderheaders on FXR's. No issues. There arent any differences that pertain to the pipes between any 90-94 and 99-2000 year FXR's. The pre-90 FXRs have a different exhaust mount on the frame, doughnut style. So the early EVO FXR's have different rear mount hardware. The 93-94 FXr has the oil filter mounted on the front of the engine but that does not affect anything. The mid controls and forward controls are exactly the same for 89-94 and 99-2000 models.

Appreciate the response. According to Rich Products it was the 92-94s that had fitment problems. They said people were sending them back because they were hitting the oil filter mounts and or forward controls etc. They do not even list those years on the website for the ones with forward controls. I was trying to see if someone actually had one mounted to the years in question and if so which # pipe was used. Would the pipe for center controls work?

That is exactly what I was thinking.

I purchased the TH #1019 and there is no way it will fit the 93-94 because the front header tube hits the oil filter mount. If someone would like to purchase the pipe pm me and I will give someone a great deal. It is still new in the plastic wrap with new exhaust flanges mounted. Live and learn I guess $$$!

Actually with a little ingenuity I was able to make it work. Used a thinner oil filter mount. I like the bend of the front tube on the #1019 which is why I decided to try and make it work. Go to page 26 of the "Lets see everyone's' fxr" thread to view it. Thanks for the inquiry!

I also fitted a Thunderheader to my bike, with some modifications.
