1988 FXRT fork seals

Got the dealer to order me two new fork seals last week, they came in earlier this week. Went to put them in today, and they're too small. They gave me HD Part # 45387-83..i'm pretty sure that was for the forks prior to '88. So my bike is now sitting on the jack with the front-end tore apart and probably won't have another chance to work on it until Saturday. Great.

So my question is..does anyone have the part number for the seals I need so I can just tell them that? I really don't feel like being down any amount of time. Or maybe some other sure-fire way for them not to screw it up? Thanks..

Buy a parts catalog for your bike. Easier than having them look it up and you know it will be the right number. About Harley parts, for the most part, the last two numbers of the part indicate the first year the part was made. Since it said -83, those parts are for 35mm forks. If I was a betting man, I would say you came up 4 millimeters short in diameter
