1992 Wide Glide project

I have a 92 FXLR that has a stock front end. I recently ran across an 07 wide glide front end for a great price. This is the front end with the 49mm fork tubes. Any opinions on how this would look/perform on my low rider? Thanks.

I went with a WG front end on my FXR.
I used Ultima 0* trees, and stock legnth tubes [41mm]...reason is, I didn't want to change the rake/trail, therefore it still handles like an FXR should. It does feel more "sure footed" if you know what I mean, because of the Wide Glide front end, but still maintains the agility that FXR's are known for.
Best of both worlds, IMO...

Custom Cycle Engineering makes a set of narrow glide trees for those 49 mm fork tubes. The wide glide might look neat, but compared to a narrow glide it handles like crap, and that is what FXRs are all about. I think the 49 mm tubes with upgraded brakes would be a terrific upgrade for an FXR, but the wide glide often looks out of place on an FXR.

You will get plenty of others opinions if you ask but your best bet is put it on, see if YOU like the look & handling.
If you don't sell the front end that you got for a great price for a profit.
