Radios factory

I see a lot of Harmon Kardon radios for sale on ebay. That brand used to be a great brand. Should I buy one? I would think they suck if many people are removing them!

My '05 Ultra did not use HK but I was so disgusted with the performance that I put in a Biketronics and Sony unit (loved it). After 3 months use, my '09 HK was replaced under warranty as the sound would intermittently mute. My understanding is that the HK radios have a higher than expected failure rate.

Regarding ebay, I just looked and there are few for sale but almost all of them are refurbished units from a power seller. I suspect they buy them in bulk from HK. AFAIK, people who buy them off ebay have HK radios that are out of warranty and they want a backup for the time when their HK radio fails.

Approximately 2 weeks ago, the replacement HK started doing the same thing AGAIN. I was told by my dealer this morning that this problem has appeared on a number of other cycles and that they are going to replace it again.
