whats a good hi torque starter for my shovelhead and good hi amp battery to go with it??
my bike has a very hard time starting and i think its cause of the 30 over dome pistons in it. went through 2 replacment starters and i couldnt tell you how many batteries. time to bight the bullet and buy the **** i need and stop wasting money on crap that wont cut it. Let me know guys
All Balls starter are very well liked, from what I'v read. I have aso seen 1.4kv Ultima starters for shovelheads real cheap like $135 I think on ebay, but I would spring for an All Balls if I was going to upgrade.
I have a Big Boar battery on mine with a stock starter.
Good fat bat cables are a must, I run an extra ground cable from bat to starter bracket. Sorry for the wait on your answer, but I don't check this site very often.
Just got done with helping my boy on his 77 fxe and he had the same problems. Yea get a good starter and batt but maybe a starter relay and run a wire off I think the I terminal and that would got straight to the coil. If you coil is not getting enough juice then your bike might give you a hard time. Good luck
