Just did this on my 03 FXSTBI, was easy, I'm not the most adept mechanically either, loosen the clamps holding the original wires, unclip them from the receptacle, pull the old one out , install new gauge, insert wire ends into new wire receptacle, plug in, an your done. good idea to disconnect the neg. bat cable before doin it. also may have to raise your fuel tank a bit to get to the wire harness underneath.
