Wide glide shocks

Is there really any difference between the shocks on say a wide glide and a low rider?...

I need to drop the back of my 2002 wide glide down a bit so i can get my feet on the floor, and i read somewhere that the lowrider shocks are lower as standard..

If not are 11" shocks ok for mainly solo use, but occasional two-up.. and how much do they lower the bike?

Which make is best do you think?

I do know this has probably been asked before, and have been looking, but not found it

Thank you.....

My glide has 12 1/2 inch shocks. I just found a guy to lower them down for $70. He cuts the shaft and the spring. I chose to go to 11 1/4 inch. This will also get the TOP of the fender to wheel rim almost exactly the same distance as the FRONTof the fender is to the rim.

Best bet if you don't get a definitive answer here is to email your questions to the technical support address at http://www.ProgressiveSuspension.com/

I've got 11 1/2" Progressive 418's (1" shorter than stock). they're great for solo riding. once i find and correct the noise i'm hearing when i'm 2-up, i'd comment on the 2-up riding. it was OK before my last long trip, so I think it will be again...
