Wide Glide 16" front wheel?

I read eleswhere that some folk had put a 16" front wheel onto their Dyna Wide Glide..

Has anyone here done that. Anyone got any information about this, or even any pics would be great..

Thank you.

I put a 19" on mine (1995 FXDWG) and it's great. Sorry, can't comment on a 16" but would probably look pretty wicked and low. The 19" made a big difference.

Good Luck,
Steve

Nice pic Steve.. Thank you..

How about a pic of the whole bike and any more info about how you did it, and what you used.. looks great..

Does it handle as good as the 21" wheel did?

The post i read said the 16 looked great and handled really well.. but it was on another forum, and I can't find it now...

If you click my name and check the profile there is a pic. The wheels are Performance Machine but were installed in 1996. Have only seen one other bike with these wheels but am sure there are more. Here's a list of "Stuff" on the bike:

1995 FXDWG
-House of Kolor custom paint by “COLORMANIA” in 1996..painter: Carl Betts
-Andrews EV-3 Cam
-Carlini Torque Arm
-Kuryakyn Hypercharger
-Vance & Hines Propipe
-Rejetted stock carb
-Screaming Eagle Ignition
-Badlander HD seat
-Custom polished aluminum wheels (Performance Machine) (changed to 19” front vice 21” stock)
-Carlini drag bars (28” x 10” riser)
-Pat Kennedy Triple Trees
-Arlen Ness billet headlight
-Kuryakyn custom mirrors with amber LED blinkers in housings (VERY bright)
-Arlen Ness grips
-Arlen Ness recessed, 3-row LED, taillight (includes license plate mount)
-Revtech 4-piston brake calipers
-HD heel stirrups
-Billet chrome master cylinder front, chrome cover rear
-Chrome switch housings
-Chrome Swingarm (HD)
-Chrome sprocket, drive belt, and lower covers
-Chrome Primary
-Chrome Inner Primary
-Chrome starter cover
-Chrome lower forks
-Chrome speedo glare cover
-All braided stainless cables and brake lines. Throttle & Idle cables are Magnum Shielding (very shiny and clear coat is almost invisible) www.magnumshielding.com
-Chrome clutch cable adjustment cover
-Chrome footpegs and chrome footpeg mounts for passenger
-Put a Metzeler 140 on the rear about 6 months ago and feels great. Just put a Metzeler on the front 3 weeks ago and the bike feels even better than before.

That’s about all folks…

I clicked on your name and then went to view public profile and I get this message that I have to be a premium member and pay $15 to look at picutres. Is this right?

The 19" front wheel is the best way to go.. If you go to the 16, you will defeat the purpose of the Wide Glide. If you want better handling go to 19"

I road WG's for long time until my accident. They are the best . Go 19, not 16

Yep...send DP some cash and help him keep this website running. It's the best one on the net and for $1.25 a month it's really kinda hard to argue with the price.
