New V&H slip ons for 06

These just came out and I love em, tried 3 others exhaust systems besides the SE slip ons..these by far are the best sound, torque, HP for the money IMHO. I also am using the PCIII with o/2 eliminators, custom map from the tune center where I bought it. Bike runs better than ever after calibrating the throttle to the PCIII, and sounds meaner than ever. BTW these were only 220 shipped unlike the full systems I tried!

I will definitely check those out when I get my streetbob. It's supposed to be in sometime in September.
Looks like you read my list of things I want to do to it when I get it!

Would you say they are louder, the same or quieter than the SE Pro II"s. I have tried several sets of slip-ons trying to find something both the neighbors and I can live with. I currently have the SE Torque. Not bad, a little "blatty." Thanks

Has the nice mid and high tones and a good low rumble. Basically drag pipes with a baffel. The Torque mufflers are signifficantly quieter. If you like the SEII+ slip ons youll love these more.. Ive had them all. By far these I like the best, pythons, seIIs, torquers, drag pipes. They all sucked IMHO, perfect mix of sound and back pressure.

Baffels are in..they are spiral cut like most of the V&H line.

'nother question 'sting'....(alright, more than one)

You mentioned the PCIII was custom mapped. Can you provide that map? Do you know how different it is than the base map? Also, where'd you buy the PCIII?
I'm getting the exact bike you have 'cept an '07 model. I'd like to buy everything before I get the bike in September.
Thanks,
Mike

PCIII came from fuel moto off of ebay 290 Is what I got mine for. Yes large difference from the base map. Im having them come up with a new one now too because I have the new 25 degree injectors and that changed how it ran big time.

Thanks for the post and picture. That is the exact combo that I would like to put on my Bob once I get a few more break in miles on it. Did you have any tuning issues at all with these slip-ons? Does your engine have any mods other than the air cleaner? I have the 25*inj. and will also be getting the PCIII from Fuel Moto since I have read reviews on them.
Thanks,
T

Only tuning that is done is with the PCIII, it is way to lean without it. Not to mention it wont sound the same. When I bought my bike I had the stage 1 flash, SEII+ mufflers installed, and air cleaner. Just didnt care for the way the SEII's looked or sounded after a while. These are the sound and more stream lined look I was after.

THEStinger, you have the stock 6 injectors? I'm going to search for info on why 6 or 25 and what the differences are.

I don't know what differences there may be between the 06 and 07 fxdbi, so I'm going ahead with the ASSumption that there won't be any when I buy the V&H straightshot slips-ons (16823), SE Stage 1 (29773-02B), and the PC3 (811-511 w/811-003) or the V&H fuelpak (61005 w/FP-0330).

I know the PC3 is more better, but it may be overkill for my needs. Still undecided though.

BTW, thanks for the info and patience for us noobs.

It appears that bikes made after Feb 15 2005 have the new"er" injectors. So I guess I won't have to worry about that...

-202310 3"HP-Plus® for 1995-06 FXD
M.S.L. $249.95

as recommended by the guys at

http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/exhaust_test_03.htm

These guys have put up with all my newbie questions with only straight forward no BS answers. I am talking about ten questions on pipes slip ons and cams for the kind of riding in want to do and keep the gas mileage mid 40's (currently 46 mpg).

I can't say enough about these guys and the info they possess and are willing to share even with a novice like myself.

I am super happy with these slip ons great low rumnble in neighborhood yet when you hit the throttle they really speak up.
the price is right and you can really tell when you reach 60 and above the bike feels like it's breathing so good the response is immeditate and powerful.

No Fuss no muss install. The guys at khrome works recomended these vs getting the whole system as it is for drag bikes.

man it is nice to finally have honest knowledgeable people to rely on.
