Help ! ! ! ! ! !

I started the wide glide conversion on my 04 FXDLI last night. The triples went together beautifully. when it came to puttin the front tire on, stuff just didn't seem to fit. I don't have the stock 19inch rim, i have gone to 21. when I put the axle spacer on it was much smaller than the hub on my rim and you could actually see around it. it didn't seem to be flush against it. next came the axle spacers, do i use both or just one? I can't seem to use both with this. Driving me crazy. Heading to bed, tomorrow i'll hit it again.

Thanks,
jimmy

Stumped?

I can't believe that I had no replies to this thread! WOW! Anyway, I found out that Ness made the product incorrectly. The spacer that came with the kit didn't fit inside the rotor spacer at all. So, what they did is, they made the hole in the rotor spacer bigger to accomodate the axle spacer. So, long story short: if you use a ness Wide Glide Conversion for a 04 FXDLI, just be aware that what you may get might not work. Also, there is a new part# for the kit. They have the wrong one in the catalog and online. I would call and get the correct one before I purchase it. Take care, Jimmy

Did you contact Ness and they said the foul up was there's? Are they sending you a new rotor spacer? Good luck.

Foul up

Yup,
They made the foul up and sent me a new rotor spacer. MUCH BETTER! But, The size of the rotor spacer is for a 19 inch wheel and mine is a 21 so it doesn't fit exactly as advertised. there is about a 1/4 inch gap between where the spacer ends and my wheel ends. I have the 6 spoke slotted, 21 inch wheel on front. I tried taking the little cap off the other side of the wheel and putting it on to fill the gap, but it pushed the brake disc too far over and the brake calliper won't fit without major rubbing. Thanks for taking a look at this thread. Jimmy
