Accessories/modifications on your Dyna

Tred, thank you for your service. I have a basically stock dyna low rider and I have been planning and researching mods and upgrades. An old friend of mine suggested that I custom tailor the bike for my riding style, the length of my legs, how my butt fits in the seat and whether or not I was going to take someone along with me. He suggested I go to a dealer and try the seat swap program to see how alternative seats felt. Then he suggested I listen to other bikes and ask the owners what king of exhaust they have.

One thing I might add is that once you set a theme; all black, lots of chrome, custom graphics, bags and fairing; follow it to suit your personal taste and enjoy the pursuit of the parts and the final look. We all take pride in our rides, make it yours.

Anyone still checking this thread? If so, I got a ?....picked up a decked-out 08 FXDC last month, but it didn't have a tach (I really used to having one). At a swap meet last wkend, got one the seller sed came of an 09 SG (think the part # is 69828-06, but w/o the shift led). But he didn't have the mount instructions, and my ? is, where is the plug in? Almost looks like you have to at least raise the tank, if not remove it? Anyone know for sure?

Thats about it pretty much I'm done with modding at this point maybe a few small things here and there. Over the winter I am going to install one of the hitech oil filters that you can take apart and clean and maybe rear and front LED blinkers/stoplights. Also will replace both tires with a slightly wider front and go with either a set of Pirellis or Metzlers. I will say this bike is a beast with my mods. 1st and 2nd gear rolling burnouts are fun smoking the tire with ease. I was really surprised when I got the bike in its sweet spot and left off for a second and nailed it and the tire broke loss and burned till I shifted and this was without using the clutch all just tire shreeding TQ. Now I just need to buy stock in one of the tire companies cause none of the rears will see much more than 3 or 4 thousand miles. Ride safe but Ride like Hell.

well figjam35, that is the same bike i have.. I will list all the stuff in the next couple of days. I enjoy seeing what other people have done.. I did have a suggestion on your wish list.. before you buy cams or anything talk to Bean at bigboyzheadporting. He can save you a ton of money and you will have no problem with a 100hp but really torque is more important. He did mine and I really appreciated his help.. ( machining ) Ill try and get my list together, and if i can figure it out a pic or two.. I agree on the automatic weapons!! LOL

OK well I have had some stuff done to my girl...so I will list what I can remember, but don't ask me brand names because I have no idea! ha!

LePera Bare Bones Gel Seat (that I remember the name of!)
Chopped the back fender
Side mounted the tail light with the plate (vertically)
Small LED tail lights/turn signals on the rear struts (took off the big stock ones)
Drag bars with 8" risers (for my short arms)
Lowered to 23"
Heated diamond plate grips (HD)
