What is best way to start warmed up bike

I never know how my 03 FXD is going to start when warmed up.
It starts great when cold, hardley have to touch the button, but when warmed up and shut off to get gas or anytime I shut off for a few minutes, I never know how it will start, I have tried about everything .
Sometimes it can be embarrasing.
I normally try to start without touching throttle or anything, but many times will only it will only fart and not start. I have tried cracking the throttle about 1/8 turn like manual says and it may start but also may backfire which draws a lot of attention . The manual says Not to start a warm bike by pulling out the enricher, but I have found that pulling it out all the way seems to work best. It doesn't want to start at 1/2 way out.
Any warm starting suggestions will be welcomed. I am getting tired of gritting my teeth and hoping for the best everytime I fuel up. Thanks

One more bit of info the engine seems to want to kick back when starting. Im sure you know what I mean.

If it helps I have the SE Stage 1 with Yost Power tube and SE slip on torque mufflers.

Pull your plugs and see what's going on with them. Your high performance fuel system may not be delivering the goods. Maybe your jets are clogged up. Did you leave the bike sitting with fuel in it over the winter? You may have gummed up the jets so that they have restricted flow somewhere. It doesn't take much varnish to cause it to respond unpredictably.

That would be my idea of where to start looking.
