Damian wants to know Dino or Syn?
Looking for front end ideas

Ok so I'm looking for a lot of ideas lol .Just picked up a 2003 FXDP defender and looking for some ideas on cleaning up the front end as in what people have done to "un police " it.
Whats out there to mount the headlight on the forks and get it off that ugly bar ?
What's out there for mini fairings ? Id like to eventually try mounting an old fxr fairing but its not financially in the cards right now.
Best options for passenger mounts and pegs ?
I hate the way up the air sprung stock seat . What are some good all around seats and can I just get a seat or is any additional mounting hardware required?(any one want to trade?)
How tall of a bar can I get away with without changing the stock cables and brake lines?
Thanks in advance for any help .
-D

One data source that will answer many questions is the Parts Manual for your year bike (2003). You need to obtain (available from the dealer) the Parts Manual for your Defender as police bikes have some special equipment. You also need to get the Parts Manual for the regular Dyna bikes.

With both manuals you can compare part numbers between various models and your Defender. For example, your frame will have the same part number as some other Dyna models, so you can use those parts. Some parts will be unique to your Defender, but they bolt up to other parts that are common to a standard Dyna.

Watch that bag on the forks. They will do some ungodly damage to the tree. I had a bag on mine when I bought it and I had to sand and polish the front of the tree to get the deep scratches out. It took me a couple hours to get it back to new.

Super glide and low rider have that same front end.

Me personnaly, change the front end out to a wide glide, do the fatboy front wheel (come in many different varuations) then do a fat boy front fender and trim that up to your liking, Done there.

Rear, wide glide shocks (12.5") I believe are direct replacements, progressive 412's 12" would be the cats meow, cheap on ebay.

There is just so many different ways you could go here.

Google FXDP picture, find what you like and head out that way, many many used parts out there.
