Chilly Ride this mornin'
Well, for Central Texas anyway....I've had some coffee now and the fingers are working again!
Hit the road at 5:00 am this morning for the ride to work.
Temps between 45 and 50 made for a brisk ride!
Need to make some minor adjustments to lowend on carb as it was spitting every once and a while during transition from idle to midrange.
There was a showstopper crash of some cages that had the highway totally blocked so I had to take a long way around to get here but still made it on time.
Have a PGR recovery at noon at Austin Bergstrom Airport that myself and some others from work will attend but it will be warmer by then.
Did I mention I loved the ride anyway - time in the wind has a cleansing effect on the mind and tends to blow your troubles away.
See ya on the road!

In the 30"s-40"s here. Love riding alone and at night in the crisp cool air, it"s good for the soul.

Man I hear that! Took my FX out last night, and the 'boys' didn't like it all that much. I also live out in the country on the Eastern WA plains (probably not all that far from you xtractor)
that hole in the crotchal (is that a word? If not, it should be) area just don't get it on those cold rides!

I rode yesterday 360 miles. Started out at 50f and mid day hit almost 100f. Still a wonderful day.

Just got back from PGR run....
Greetings,
Just got back from the PGR Recovery and escort to the Funeral Home.
Must have been about 100 PGR riders + 30+ LEOs.
Looked like the whole town of Lockhart turned out to welcome home their own.
Full "parade" around the town square with thousands of local folks standing at attention, saluting and waving flags.
Quite a moving experience - if you haven't done a PGR ride, give it a look.

If your carb spits a bit at 50 degree air, leave it alone. There's a bunch more oxygen getting in the engine at cold temps (it goes lean on fuel). It should be just fine at 65 degrees and higher. When the air gets really hot, there is much less oxygen getting to the engine (it gets richer on fuel). Tune your carb for decent riding conditions and make sure it's rich enough not to torch itself at 100 plus temps. Just my 2 cents.

38* when I left for work. Yep, a bit chilly at 70 mph. brrrr
But, gotta say that a full face helmet makes it a lot more comfortable to ride in cold weather. Just got it and am liking it more and more, at least for the colder weather.

Agree, nothing like a cool ride in the evening, but in this area gotta kind of watch for critters and deer.

29 degrees here this AM at 8..Rode to work anyway! Fingers a little numb by the time the 1/2 hour ride was over, but I'd prepped the coffee maker last nite & fired up a woodstove soon as I got there...Warmed up quickly...
Ride home was in the low 40s & no deer on the ride. The Cross Bones loves this weather!

rides on those days in the 30s are a bit brisk, definately need good gloves. most people here have their rides stored for the year, and me and maybe 1 or 2 of the people i know with bikes will still be out until the last chance before the snow comes. cant wait to get back home and get riding. damn deer...

Greetings,
The ride home sealed the deal!
About 75, clear and sunny with light breeze.
What a day....140 miles of pure soul cleansing wind bending bliss!
Here is a link to a video of the PGR ride from yesterday:

I am proud to have been a part of this ride and will attend the services on Friday with the PGR.
