09 FXDB: Raising the bar

howdy all. my sb is at the dealer getting put back together after our 9/15 wreck. handlebars are bent (among other things) and will be getting replaced. thinking about going a lil taller, but would like to know how much taller can i go with using the stock wiring/cabling.

1978terrorizer is on a distinguished road
On my 07, I went with 16" rise. I think they are about 36 wide, with a 9" center, with 1" diameter tube. There was enough wire inside the frame to wire these internaly. I cant say for sure about an 09 though.

i couldnt answer how much more ya can go on wiring but they do make the extension kit for it if you do decide to go higher and need more wire. i just had 16" put on and had the harness kit used. happy bar hunting

thank you too 07fxdb black. in your reply, you mention an outfit that makes an extension kit for the wiring. what is the name of that company?

99, i had the dealer do all the work, i did internal wires on my roomates bars once and will never attempt it again, but i looked it up and will post a link that takes ya to the page where you can order them. i dont know where on the page when ordering to specify model, or what exactly the kit looks like though. might want to inquire about it a little more. heres the link. http://tinyurl.com/yd2tjy3
