Floorboards

my fxdx-t has mid-body pegs which are fine with me. I added pegs to the crash bars for highway pegs. They are fine most of the time except for when I am cruising at 80 mph and the wind is too hard on the soles of my boots. I'd like to change the hwy pegs to floorboards. Does anyone make them with a male mount the same size as the male mount on the pegs?

Fred,

A fellow I ride with mounted boards to his dyna. He did it several years ago and IIRC, there was a HD kit available for this. Don't know if it's still offered, but would think maybe someone like Jenni could figure out what parts were in it and help you piece the bits together.

Thanx. I got Jenni's number by searching this very forum. She turned me onto this with 20% discount and $10 shipping:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...5&default=none

which is a half size floorboard. I'm looking for a full size with a male mount peg.

I mounted a set of passenger floorboards on my DYNA once...they mounted right up on my forward peg mounts..very comfortable....only thing I had to do was drill another hole to get the correct angle...think I gave $29 for them on EBAY....

The Drag Specialty catalogue has 8x4 inch footboards for $54 and the Custom Chrome book has them for $45. These do not look near the quality of Kuryakyn but they are less than half the price. I only need them for long trips. These have the male end clevis type mount like the isopegs. I'll prolly thicken up the rubber pad somewhat for vibration and coat the chrome with wax to slow down the rust.

I have stock ones on my fatboy and they are starting to rattle, now I am not rubber mounted as most are today but take a close look at the rubber insulation and make sure it is tight and snug as they tend to rattle at higher revs.... I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the rattle as the rubber is good as well as the chrome, but the rattle sounds like a grate in the wind!

Fred1369,
HD used to make a floorboard kit for the pre 06 Dynas.
Unfortunately they do not make that kit anymore.
However if you look in a 01-05 FXDP parts book the floorboards,
brackets, shifter and brake pedal are still available for the police Dynas.

I had the floorboard kit on my 01 FXDXT and later on my 07 Street Bob
with an engine gaurd and liked it alot.

Good luck.

Floorboard report

I picked these up today. Custom Chrome 05103 Universal Mini-Floorboard Kit, made in Taiwan, $45. They look good new but I doubt the chrome would last as long as more expensive ones. I'll keep them well waxed. The floor board is kinda thin with a thin rubber pad on it, the male cleavis mounts are very sturdy. 8 in x 4 in to keep 80 mph wind from pushing up my boots.

Here's a couple pics of my 04 Wide Glide and the floorboards I put on it. Man are they comfortable. I would never ever go back to pegs.

yeah, those are the free floating ones. I didn't want to spend that much money. My mid-body pegs are fine I was just looking for something on longer trips.

Just wondering where you got these. I haven't seen any like this.
