2006 Dyna rear directional question

hello all, new to the forum,
and new to HD
anyway, I just purchased my very nice, 2006 Dyna, with all kinds of Bells and whistles but I have a question, the previous owner installed LED lamps on the directionals, front and rear and the brake lamps as well.
My question is are the rear directionals suppose to go on when the headlamps are on, or just blink as directionals,
I have a situation where the left one is on, when I turn the ignition on, but not the right,
both blink correctly when the directionals are used, but I want to know which one is malfuctioning, the left or right? should it be on or off, ?

On a normal motorcycle the rear directionals are only used as blinkers. They are not on when the bike is running. However there are kits you can get that will turn the rear lights into running lights and blinkers. Usually these kits come with red lenses though as most states require rear running lights to be red. If the rear lights are red, then they should both be on. If not, you may have a wiring issue.

Are the rear lights red, or yellow? You're supposed to turn them red (new lenses) with the kit.
