Windshield Suggestions
I'm looking for something that will fit my 2007 SuperGlide and just keep the wind out of my face. I wear glasses and I cannot go over about 45 mph without having the wind cause my right eye to "tear" and I'm basically riding around with one eye closed. Not good.
I also wear an open face helmet with a visor and anything above 45mph, and the wind wants to rip my helmet off. So, I'm looking for even a small shield that will deflect the wind over my head.......suggestions?

The HD detachable windshields work great.....expensive but good quality windshield that can be removed in seconds. Just check the paper catalog or online catalog at harleys website.

Get good riding glasses and ditch the visor. Windshields are for wussies.

I agree w/ both suggestions. I bought the detachable HD winshield w/ the removable backrest. (Essential Kit). Works Great! But just buy the windshield if that's all you need.
DavidH makes a great, and inexpensive suggestion. I don't wear glasses, but someone MUST make sealed(?) glasses that go go over the scrips. for your situation. You can't be the only person with this problem.

In all seriousness even with a windshield a good pair of riding glasses is important. I use 7eye Bora (formerly Panoptix) with prescription transition lenses. They are great riding glasses.

Panoptx (7Eye) prescription glasses with eye cups and a Memphis Shades 19" Rio Grande windshield work pretty well for me. I got the glasses through SportRx.com. They can be expensive depending on what options you want. Mine were close to $400 with bifocal transition polycarb lenses.
The windshield and mounts can be had for around $150.
You might want to consider losing the visor.

Soon as I get a chance....I rode to Columbia, SC this weekend and it was pretty cold so I had it on, good friend of mine lives there i was visiting. By the time I left it was almost 60 degrees so I took it off and left it at his place. I go down there a good bit so when I pick it up I'll snap some. Really doesn't look that bad, just bad enough where I don't want it on any longer than I need it

I have the HD detachable windshield on a 08' FatBoy and it does come on and off very easy. Was living in Florida and mainly got it to deflect bugs and sand while riding down there. Really makes a big difference in the cold air up here in the winter. Have been looking at the batwing detachable fairings by MS and thinking about making the change. The drawback I can already see to that is I will have to relocate my turn signals, which probably means getting the aux light kit.

I have riding prescription glasses (Bobster from denniskirk.com)... I have a Momo Helmet with a Visor and I got the HD Detachable Windshield...
WARNING about the windshield... if you go over 100-120kph or 65mph OR the wind direction is towards you, you will get a lot of buffeting... it is annoying... if I knew about this earlier I would NOT have gone with the HD windshield! sometimes buffeting is so strong you cant see clearly!

I'd try a good pair of glasses with a removable seal before I go to a windshield. My eyes are also sensitive to wind and would easily tear if I didn't wear some sort of sealed eyewear. I wear the LA Airrage model by Wiley X and I think they're as good if not better than 7eye (Panoptx) for about $60 less.

I have an HD windshield but do not not get any buffeting at any speed.....but upwards of 80-85mph it does give the front end some high speed wobble, little scary sometimes.
