I got the black Big Radius on my new Street Bob…….had black Short Shots on my Nightster that I just traded in. I’ve only ridden with one bike that had the baffles taken out and thought it sounded like sh*t. It was annoying to ride with. Just a shrill deafening noise – it didn’t sound good.

I’ve loved both of my sets of Vance and Hines pipes with their regular baffles. My uncle lives across the street and says that he can hear me all the way down our road to the highway and can tell which way I go when I get there. That’s about ¾ of a mile. We live in the boondocks too on 40+ acres here. There is no point in my opinion to taking your baffles out to be any louder.

I just put the black V&H Big Radius on my Street Glide.

With the stock baffles, she's quite a bit more loud than my taste. I *think* I feel a little less torque down low where I drive, but hopefully a good tune will help compensate a bit.

I got the air cleaner cover from Eastern Performance Cycle. They have them up on ebay as well. Here's a link

I have a PCIII on my FXDWGI and used a map that Power Commander has posted on thier site to get it going when I installed my pipes. I dunno if the difference is the PCIII vs Fuel Pak. I did have a stage 1 burn on the ecm befor the PCIII went on, but I noticed some pretty significant torque, and HP gains. I never have had the thing Dyno'ed, so I can't tell you any specs. I only know from the seat of my pants that the bike has alot more balls now.

if you take the baffles out you will lose low end torque and throttle response, at least i did when i tried it with my sporty. as far as the big city thunder monster baffles go, i had them in the vance and hines slipons on my sportster and they make quite a difference over the stock baffles. it felt like the bike ran stronger and it was for sure louder than the stock vance and hines baffles. i didn't think it made it obnoxious though, just a nice low rumble and loud!!! worth the 80 bucks they cost and then some.

Yeah i know what you saying as far as loosing some low end torque, but the reason i did it is because i'm planning on supercharging my bike. With forced induction you don't want any type of restriction in the exhaust. You will gain the most hp up top with no baffles. Now if you are building a N/A setup then yeah, you want to have some sort of back pressure

Big radius pipes with big city thunder "video"

I fitted the pipes but thought it sounded crap with the V&H baffles, so i changed to the Big city Thunders, got it on video if it helps.

And I'm still on the fence. I think maybe the LOOK is better than the sound, but not sure?!? I can hear the pipes when I'm riding, but to SEE the pipes while I'm riding, I would probably fall.

IMO
That's a good lookin' dawg!
