06 Superglide Wide Tire Size ??

HD has a wide tire kit that enables you to increase the size of the DYNA rear tire to 180 60 17. However, the only tire I can find in this size is a Dunlop Screaming Eagle.

Metzler recommends upgrading to a 170 60 17 and I am thinking of putting on a 180 55 17 sport style tire. Hypothetically the decrease in the sidewall height should also decrease the amount of crown on the tire. The rear of the bike would also sit 1 cm lower..(big deal).

Anyone out there have any thoughts on this?

The 180-55-17 is a radial ? make sure it's not, unless ya have cast wheels..
The wide tire kit is a rip off, ya just need the tire. they run about 180.00...

Why

Why only use radial on cast wheels? (mine are cast).

It's just a couple of tie's for the turn sig wires and some spacers. I bought it and returned it, (made sure my wires were tight up against the fender) and just bought the tire. Been perfict even with the 11" progressives.
