2009 serg rides like a truck

I have a 2009 serg I bought new, silver now has 4000 mi on it and after changing the shock pressure way to many times to try to correct the ride, every bump tar strip jolts your spine, My mechanic says it might be the shorter shocks ,harder compound on tires, all I know is the ride is bruttle,I was telling a hd mechanic about it when a guy came over and told me he put all kinds of extras on his 09serg and had to sell it because of the ride "said his back couldnt take it"bought a seuc 2010.droping another 10 k.I had a 04 rg put 45.000mi on it loved that bike Just read an article in Bagger mag compairing 09 rg with 09 serg and talked about the ride being badon screaming eagle.I was wondering if anyone put the new shocks from 2010 sesg on there rg,Thats my only complaint about bike put a det.tour pack, power comander, slip on bassani 4in reverse cut pipes 16 in KW windshield.Love the bike hate the ride.

http://www.suspensiontechnologies.com/products.htm I'm thinking of trying these. Mine's not to bad 15psi, solo riding 40psi 2up. Going to a longer shock like on your 04 will help a bunch. If you have to much air for solo riding it will beat up on ya.

I have found around 25 to 30 is right for me, at 190 lbs. It is very firm though. Any softer and I bottom out, and more and it is like a truck.

I am looking at Progressive 440s or Works

I do not want to change the hight of the rear, becuse if I go up one back there I have to do the same in the forks to keep proper geometry.

It loosens up slightly with a few more miles on it. You also need to remember that you are running low profile tires. They are for performance and not comfort. I do agree though that on smooth hiway this bike is the cat's meow but on bumpy backroads it sucks!

Thanks for the input I just did 4 days in new england R.I -mass- new hampshire-conn- rode in the rain for 1 day bike was great ,those roads are a lot better than the roads around here(one hr north of NYC) The trees are almost all changed so it was a very senic ride. It will be ok but then you hit a bad road and you get beat up.Im going to wait to here from other people who switched shocks before putting down another 500 bucks.
