Do dealers dicker on CVO Models?

We were at the dealer today when they rolled out the new 2010 CVO Softail Convertible. My wife saw it and went completely gaga, she sat on it and it fit her perfectly.

She asked what her '04 Low Rider with custom paint was worth. They gave her $8000 for her bike and with freight and dealer prep the difference was about $21,000. She wants me to offer them $19,000 including tax, title, license, freight and prep.

Will they laugh me right out of the place or consider it?

The 2010's have only been out a month. Not a real reason to dicker on price yet, BUT there are some good dealers that know at MSRP they are making a great profit. So if they think they can sell you old one for more than they bought it for. And beleive me they won't sell it for 8k anything is possible. Money talks. Would I get my hopes up? no. Offer and see. Not gonna hurt you either way. Throwin in tag title and tax is a stretch.

Yes, some dealers will dicker on CVO's.

I was treated very well on my 09 CVO, which I put a deposit on the day harley anounced the model....

My experience is they don't dicker too well until the following year comes out.. Was Looking at a 09 Road Glide CVO when Bought my 08 FLHT when the 09's First Came out Last time was at the Dealer ( Shortly before the 10's Hit the Floor ) Sticker Price was the Same anyway .. You can always make an offer if got the cash to back it, don't hurt to try...

several conditions can affect the deal you get.

1. local market conditions

2. your relationship with the dealer

3. the specific dealers inventory of new and used bikes

very generally speaking, it's best to deal on the last few days of the month when they are trying to "hit their numbers". A dealer is going to put an "actual cash value" on your trade (and can vary a great deal). Ask the dealer how much this is, anything more than that allowed is margin moved from the bike you're buying. A dealer can usually sell your bike for more than you can because of his ability to finance, advertise, etc.

CVO's are limited, but you still be able to shop around, and your patience will get you a better deal.

It's always better if you can sell your own first, but it can be difficult, and many people don't want to deal with the phone calls, no shows, and other hassles.

It is September now, the riding season is winding down and cold weather is coming to your area pretty soon, so dealers may want to unload what they have.

Economics 101 will take precedent here. The 10' CVO convertible is probably the MOCO's sharpest looking bike they have this year and there's a limited supply of them. A local dealer near me had one in for about 2 hours before it was sold, so it's my guess there will be no deals to be had on these bad boys...

Well they actually did come down to $20,000 even including her bike but I pay the tax, title, etc. My wife drove it about an hour ago and her only complaint was the clutch was too hard for her. Does anyone know if that can be adjusted?

Those new clutches are pretty easy to pull. Isn't it hydraulic?

She's pretty girly. About 5'1 and maybe 110 pounds with hands like a child.

Afraid the clutch is as good as it gets on the CVO 's with 110". You may want to look into something aftermarket to help. Good luck! I'm betting your wife will have a left Popeye arm after a couple weeks!!!!!
