noise on left side of motor

I installed a baker 6 speed with a 28 tooth sprocket and the supplied chain. I drove to Sturgis and noticed that there was a lot of ticking.
my question is: is there a posibility the sprocket being a little larger could have interference with the inside of the primary cover causing it to "knick' the inside when it gets hot and expands.
only seems to happen when it gets warm.

ticking..? Vague check chain adjustment if that is not it you may have to pull the outer Primary to see if there is rubbing. I do know that ticking and clicking and chattering can travel I found a ripple in my 5th counter gear and it made a horrible noise and I thought it was the primary as it is easier to get to then the tranny. You installed the gear set or complete bolt in, case and all?

When did your notice the ticking? At a certain rpm, certain gear?

I have never had any fitment problems with the 28 tooth sprocket. Had one bind on the comp assembly a tiny bit, but none ever made noise.

noticed the noise when i was on return trip from Sturgis back to east coast. Thought maybe I was lugging too much in high gear. has to be doing 70+ to use sixth gear. going to change to a 27 tooth and tighten up chain a bit
when I checked primary chain it was a sloppy 3/4 inch play, gonna try it at 1/2 inch don't think it'll be too tight.
the adjustments with the 28 are in between tight and loose. can't get it right to the factory specs 5/8 to 7/8 cold with the chain now. plus needs a little extra throttle to get moving
talked to baker and they said to tighten up a bit and check compensator sprocket

If you cannot locate the noise i hope it is not the left side crank bearing. Just did a CVO that the outer shell broke what a mess.
