CVO Fat Bob

I just took delivery of my new 2009 CVO Fat Bob. During the ride home the Engine cut to one cyclinder when idling , which I understand is to cool the rear cylinder. This can be dis-armed through the ignition to keep engine running on both. What are the cons to disarming the system. It is anoying when it goes to one cylinder as the bike shakes and seems like it will stall. Any comments

There should be the procedure in the manual to engage and disengage the feature. At least it was in the touring manual.

The EITMS comes on (if it's working properly) only when the cylinder head temps exceed 287 F (96" engine). It's there for your engines protection. It also turns oof when your rpm's exceede about 1250, so it chould only happen when your sitting in traffic.

On the touring bikes, it can be turned on or off by the rider (depending on model year). It's my understanding that it has to be turned on or off by the dealer on the Dyna.

This may all be wrong with the 110 inch engine you have, so check the owners manual and see if it's mentioned. Your dealer should have covered that with you when you took delivery.

Well after a few thousand miles I have all the bugs workrd out on the CVO Fat Bob. The idle management system need to be turned off at the dealer. I had mine done when it was dyno tuned . To get rid of the majority of the heat issue the bike need to breathe and eliminate exhaust gas better. Adding pipes and and aftermarket fueler has made it a different bike. WAY better performance and way cooler. With the cat that is in the stock exhaust its a wonder they run at all. If you have a CVO Fat bob making these changes turns it into a different machine
