CVO Mufflers

Anyone have a set of CVO slip on mufflers they took off their ride and are looking to sell?

Or maybe trade for a set of S&S SPO's? I have a set of SPO's that I have run for a while and want something a little quieter, but that flows better than stock. I am looking for a stock set of CVO mufflers to run on my Road King.

IMHO the new 4" SE mufflers are louder than the stock CVO cat mufflers but quieter than the old SEs. I was pleasantly surprised.

I am looking for free flowing yet quieter pipes for my older ultra (113ci/10.2:1cp ) and read the newer stock 4 " CVO mufflers were pretty good. I prefer to keep the V&H true dual headers. Are the 4" much better flowing than the 3 1/2" 65254-00 pipes?

I know the quality of sound depends on the individual's personal taste but loudness and performance should not be, either a pipe is quieter or not, it is either more free flowing or not.

What have you found to be the best other than 2into1 ?

Model numbers would also be helpful.

thanks in advance

joe

ON EDIT: I know there is a trade off, to me sound level is more important than performance, but want to keep as much performance as I can .

I don't know how "free flowing" the mufflers on a CVO bike are compared to non CVO bikes, but the stock mufflers from my CVO Springer have a catalytic converter in them, and that can't be good for exhaust flow......

RUSH used to make the CVO SE slip ons. You can buy the RUSH slip ons for mid $300 price range and they sound great. They come with different sized baffles from 1.5 in to 2.5 inches. The bigger the baffle the louder the noise. I have them on my 08 ultra with 1.75 inch baffles and they are plenty loud and sound great. At half the price of some of the others out there i think they are a steal

Well the 2009 SE road glide and SE Ultra have the catalytic converter in the head pipe before the muffflers.

I purchased a used set of CVO mufflers, they look a lot bigger than the 3 1/2" touring, both the new mufflers have cats in them. Thinking of removing the baffles and replace them with the Fullsac cvo baffles, but may try them with the stock baffle assembly first. Right now it's below freezing outside so we won't be riding.

I'm not sure what your riding, or what kind of an exhaust note you are looking for, but I run the 2006 110" CVO mufflers on my 07 96" FLHX and they flow WAY more than the stock mufflers. The exhaust note is slightly louder than stock, actually more of a deeper note than stock.

If you want loud exhaust, they won't do. But if you want a mellow note with a lot more flow than stock mufflers, you just can't beat the CVO mufflers. The quality is very high. They look very good on the bagger. If you want louder exhaust then get Steve at Fulsac to make you up some 2" baffles. Save the stock baffles in case you want to go back. I did, as I got rid of my loud exhaust and went back to quiet performance. So nice to now be able to hear my radio and not draw attention to myself when I ride through somewhere.

As far as the CATS go, most folks I've talked with that have removed them from their CVO mufflers say the exhaust note and engine performance is the same with or without the CATS installed. That tells me there is no real exhaust flow loss with the CATS left in.

The new "Honey comb" design CAT materials used in modern exhaust systems are not as restrictive as the old "Pellet bed" style CAT converters of the 70's and the 80's. Leave them in, as you go through way too much work to remove them for what it's worth!
