Question CVO 103 Flywheels

I recently took my '05 SE FatBoy from the production 103" to a Zipper's Performance 113" Muscle kit. After installing and logging at least 1500 break-in miles, it was Dyno'd. It put out just over 100 Hp and around a 100lbs Tq. Obviously something wasn't right. The Zipper's 113" numbers should be right around 125Hp and 124Tq. After much trial and error I decided to have the guys at Zipper's take a look (BTW...They're great guys to deal with). They discovered that my bike had the wrong crankshaft assembly in it. The 103" comes with a 4 3/8" stroke crank. The crank in my bike had a 4" stroke. How did this happen? Good question...The aftermarket performance shop that did the work has a good reputation. They found and purchased a correct crank from a sister shop in CT. After installing the 4 3/8" crank, compression jumped from a meager 115lbs in each cylinder to over 190lbs (I've yet to have it Dyno'd again but will very soon). Harley Davidson was contacted and after months of deliberation (and inspection of the crank) determined that it was in fact a TC88 crank and that it was impossible for that crank to have come from the factory installed originally in my bike (tracked by Julian dates stamped on the flywheel). The blame came back to the aftermarket shop. I visited the shop at least 3 times a week while the work was being done and I never suspected any type of disorganization where there could be such a mix-up. It wasn't like they had a bunch of crank assemblies laying all around. All of my materials were kept together. Long story short....Brings me to this question. Has anyone else out there experienced the same B.S.? If you or someone you has, please let me know.

Greatly appreciated,
Gman

holy ****!! I've never heard of the wrong crank at the factory. I've heard of shops, that arnt in business anymore, swapping parts out of bikes to other bikes without customers knowledge.

wristpin locations are different. your shop should have noticed the wrong deck height.

How could this be done by accident?

I mean, the 113 kit doesn't involve splitting the cases, does it? At least not for a machine that already has the stroker crank. ???

Yup, you have to bore the cases for the bigger cylinders. Crank has to come out.

It also went to a Timkens conversion.

Even if the MoCo put in the wrong crank,A true Tech should have noticed an issue upon disassembly, the cranks are VERY visually different
How long did it take Zippers to find an issue?

Sounds like someone at the shop now has a stroker.
I agree with "JBXMN" and bust some heads.

??????????

I find it hard to believe that it happened at MOCO. Someone at CVO would have caught that at inspection of the motor before installation in the bike. Compression would have been the give-a-way !!!!
