Dyna CVO 07 - Shift for BIG Foot

Anyone else have a problem with the forward shift foot lever spacing. My foot is a size 9 but the shift lever seems to be for a size 14. Not Happy. Is this adjustable? Will Harley help? This is not their entry level bike and should be right.
Thanks, yboy11

Problem I have

IS that the footrest peg under the shifter is a little bit pointed downwards so that with smooth soled boots, my foot tends to slide off the peg. This can be a bit tiresome when freeway riding and the wind is pushing on it. I had to rough up the bottom of my boot to try a get a better grip. I do know what you are referring to and if anyone knows how to level off this footrest it may help both of us, as the leveling will bring the foot a little closer to the shifter.

I also own a FXDSE and had the problem of my feet sliding off the footpegs when riding at highway speeds (especially the right brake side). My footpegs are level and are not angled downwards. I thought the footpegs were mounted too far forward for me (5' 10" with 32" inseam). Then I installed a set of HD Stirups (Heel Rests) with the matching pegs and problem was solved - now my feet rest comfortabably on the pegs at highway speeds without having to reach my legs forward or downwards to apply more pressure to the pegs.

Regarding your concern of the shifter peg mounted too high, that should be able to be corrected by a simple adjustment of the shifter linkage. Loosen the bolt and rearrange the shift lever on the spline where you want it and then readjust the shifter linkage rod to accomidate the new position.

Hope this helps

Have you tired replaciing the chrome inserts with the rubber ones? Big difference and still looks like stock. Also, I found that you can shim the peg at the bottom with a piece of cardboard to give it a little bit of inward tilt that gives your foot a more stable feel.
