Black Powder ? ? ? I Built A Small Cannon

I've been horsing w/ black powder for maybe 15 yrs. It's dirty and slow, but a nice change of pace.

I built a .54 cal. Plains Buffalo Rifle from a kit. Re-built/repaired a .45 cal. caplock a friend handed me as a pile of rust from the storage bin under his camp trailer.

Picked up a Wells Fargo from the "as is" (as in broken) bin at the local gun shop, $15. The trigger spring had been installed upside down.

Philadelphia Deringer (one R) -- replica of the one used by John Wilkes Booth. I think $20 on that one because it was collecting dust in the display case.

Stainless Pietta Remington replica, 44 cal. 7" bbl.

And my buddy and I got together on his machine lathe and turned out a small naval cannon. I built the carriage from wood scraps and items I found in the local marine hardware supply.

thats cool. looks better than the one we'd play with as a kid. my cousins had a piece of pipe stuck to a wood block with toy monster truck wheels and we'd shoot wads of paper and sticks at the dog. lucky we didnt blow our hands off lol

I have a little cannon a friend got at a gun show. I shoot .457 caliber balls out of it. After a couple shots to line it up, I can pop a hole in a milk jug at 30-40 feet. Very fun little toy.
