Rossi 461 or 462 or NOT

Read some good things on Rossi revolvers looking to get a snubby 357 and seriously looking at the Rossi 461 blued or 462 Stainless. I want to know what eh opinions are out there of poeple who own Rossi revolvers or those who ues to own them. Are they dependable ? Tough ?
In the 90s friend bought new Taurus (Rossi and Torus the same ? ) and the damn thing locked up. I hear their quality control is much better now and some even think they make the best bang for the buck.

Are Rossis they dependable ?
Tough ?
What are your experiences with Rossi revolvers ?

Rossi's have been used to protect peoples lives. They are a division of Taurus and probably are similar in internal build and quality. I have a 2" snub Taurus and feel highly confident in it as a defensive weapon even though I wouldn't want to rattle off large numbers of ammo without extra cleaning and internal checks. But snubs aren't target pistols, just something for SD and enough practice to ensure reliability and proficiency.
