Fill me in- Subcompact Glock .45 (model 30?)
What can y'all tell me about this gun? It'd be used for concealed carry. Is there something unusual about Glock safties?

Can't remember the details on the safety but the G30 was on top of my list. That or the G36 but I wanted the 10+1.
I decided on another brand largely because of a $200 price difference. I'm happy but the Glock sure is nice.

Im waiting on my permits now to purchase a subcompact springfield .40 cal.I have a glock 23 model(compact) .40 cal.Their is no safety on a Glock. The bottom line is the safety is in the trigger. If you pull the trigger the gun is going to go off.Their is no other safety. That is the only downside. The gun is very reliable though. The sub compact is very small and easy to conceal though. You might have to purchase the grip extender if you have big hands though.I chose to go with the springfield sub-compact.It's suppose to be smaller than the glock sub-compact.

Taurus PT145 Millenium.
I did alot of research. Taurus has not been known as a quality manufacturer but now by most accounts they are fine. Many changes and updates the last 5 years or so.

That's not technically correct. Glock's do have a safety, it's just mounted on the trigger itself. If you pull the trigger, you naturally depress the safety and the gun goes "boom."
The best safety is always between your ears. Keep your finger off the trigger until you've aquired a target and you'll be fine.

Great gun, but it's alittle big for me to carry everyday. I carry a S&W air weight 357. If you carry alot you want something that will always work. Auto's have come a long way but it still an auto. My S&W fits into my back pocket or holster and don't even know it's there. Glocks are great, this is only my 2cents. I've carry for over 15years and did the 1911 and glock thing.

There are actually 3 safeties on a glock. It will not go boom unless you put your finger on the trigger and pull. The best safety in the world is stated in another post, your head.
As far as concealed carry the 30 is my choice and my daily carry. The only drawback to the 30 IMO is that if you have small hands forget it. Of course everyone has their own favorites. Whatever you get practice and then practice some more.

If you're looking for a CCW, have you checked out the Glock 36?
My husband has one - it's the only slimline Glock makes at this time - a single-stack .45 - 6 rounds. The Glock 30 is a double stack - much bulkier.
The Glock 36 fits much better in my hand, and it's easily concealable.

If you are dead set on a Glock for carry get a 19 or a 26.
If God would have wanted .45 from a Glock , he wouldn't have invented John Moses Browning.
1911s rule and are easier to conceal than any Glock.

I'm confused. My Glock 26/27s are a whole heckuva lot easier to conceal than my Colt Commander 1911. Maybe you meant that in the 45 world the 1911 makes a better CCW, but I stil don't know (?)
I love my Colt but there's no contest concerning carry ~ and I have absolutely no idea how you can post that I could carry my Colt 1911 easier than either of my Glocks. They are lighter, smaller, and both of them carry more firepower than my Commander.
I'm just sayin'

I've got a G27 (.40 S&W), but don't often carry it. It's a little bulkier and heavier than I really care for in CC gun, especially in the summer. I most often carry my S&W 342...an enclosed hammer, ultralight titanium (Scandium) framed .38 Spl +P.
I had been told the .357 mag version of this gun is a real recoil bear. I've never fired one, but I just requalled at a LE range with 50 rounds of Speer 130 grain .38 Spl +P JHP ammo. This stuff is specifically designed to perform well in 2" revolvers.
DAMN! I've shot handguns of all calibers my entire LEO life and this is the most sustained recoil I've ever experienced. Not a fun gun to shoot a lot, but very accurate for what it is and extremely concealable. I like it a lot.

I carry a Glock 27 and I really like it. I would recommend the 27 over the 26 (.40 over 9mm).

+1 on the Taurus PT 145.
It has a thumb safety. It costs less. It has a 10 +1 capacity.
The potential for a Glock to go boom while reholstering is real. Something, anything, can catch on that trigger and depress the trigger.
Mechanical safeties are not fool proof, and fools can caus a negligent discharge of any firearm.
It's much more difficult if the handgun has a thumb safety.
Just my nickle, I carry cocked and locked 1911's.
