Ruger LCP Short Supply
Getting my CHL. Can't find one in any gunstore. Been trying to pick one up but the stores are only getting about one a month-sometimes. Live in DFW area. Any body knows who stocks them?

The Ruger DBM gun
Finally took my LCP to the gun range the other day. I had never fired a .380 before and the LCP is really small so I thought it would be easy. It kicks as much as my 9mm Browning and is just as loud. It is a DBM gun, Don't Bother Me, because I couldn't hit anything farther than about 15 feet away. At that range it shot about 2 feet lower than where I was aiming. I really need to fire it more to get used to it. I also have a Taurus .38 special and I have no trouble hitting the target with that. It just made too much of a bulge in my pocket to be be concealed so I bought the LCP. Yes, the shops around here are getting about 1 or 2 a month. Also, .380 ammo costs more than 9mm and .45

Some places will let you get on a waiting list. Deposit or not depends on the dealer. It would be worth asking if you really want one.

found a site www.gunbroker.com where you can bid on guns. Just got the wife a Sig p232. You bid on a gun and if you win then you pay shipping and a transfer fee with your FFL.
and yes there are 5 Ruger LCPs listed there

Hey Londog check out the Kel tec's or NAA's. You should be able to find them fairly easy. I can get either for you but you would have to come to Palestine to get it.

Go to a gun show here in Fort Worth, I have seen them at each show the last couple of months. There's another one Nov. 1st weekend at Will Rogers.

This months Guns & Ammo Handguns magazine has an article called ".380 Pistol Shootout" where they compare 4 .380s. Pretty good article.

Cabela's got 100 LCP in on Wed. I went & bought one last night at closing time. There were 4 or 5 left. Sold them out in 1 1/2 days. They sure must be popular.

The last time I was in Cabella's the guy behind the counter said they were selling for $295.00. They were taking names for a list without a deposit needed. I really like my seecamp .32, but I might have to pick up one of these (if I can find one!).

LCP Recall
Ruger has had another recall for the LCP .380. The first had something to do with the barrel, mine was made after that recall. Lately there has been a couple of accidental discharges when the LCP was dropped on a hard surface - something I try not to do. When the parts are available, they will send me a prepaid package to return the gun and try to have the gun back to me (prepaid) in one week. They will replace the trigger group, make any changes necessary to upgrade the gun to present specs, and include a new magazine as a thank you. How is that for customer service? Check their web site for details.
