Sig P220 vs Glock 30 sf

Debating whether to go with the Sig or the Glock.

Anyone have either and if so what do you like/dislike of that gun?

Difference of about 250 bucks so am really contemplating this purchase.

thanks all

I've never owned a Glock. I hear they're great guns, function under adverse conditions, never break, etc. So I can't speak to them in any sort of informed way. I do own a Sig P229, and it is a damn fine gun. I originally bought it chambered for .357 Sig and later acquired a drop-in barrel chambered for .40 caliber (the two calibers use the same magazines since the cartridge dimensions are the same). So, for what it's worth, I give a big thumbs up for Sigs in general and am not knocking Glocks. I just don't have any experience with them.

I was issued a Glock .40, and purchased a Sig .45. I prefer the Sig. Nothing wrong with the Glock, I just prefer the Sig more.

Well, can speak to this. Own both and have shot 100's of rounds thru each. I prefer the Sig over the Glock 10-1. I find the Sig smoother and in my opinion more reliable. I do prefer .40cal over the .45ACP...currently carry a Sig 239 .40SW as my concealed weapon. I just don't like the plastic feel of the Glock. Also I prefer hammer type pistols over the hammer-less versions for safety reasons. Just my preference though.

Here's a vote for GLOCK. Been carrying a GLOCK ever since I switched from my S&W back in 1994. Went from the G17 to G23 and now are dept has approved the G21 and G21SF. The G21SF is nice and has the slimmest grip of the two. They are very reasonably priced also.

I had a Sig 239 and sold it I did not like the way the Sig fit in my hand. The pistol sat up high in my hand. I really like my Glock's I have a 23 and a 27.

Holobach,

Seems like you have to carry both, and use both and then decide. It's like owning a motorcycle. Everyone has different likes and dislikes.

Since you asked about the 220 and the G30 I have the G30 and love it for carrying. 10 +1 in a compact 45 works for me. I's easy to conceal, accurate and dependable. I can tell you one thing and that is if you have small hands you will not like the 30 with the double stack mag. But just like anything else you need to try whatever you decide on before you buy...

Well been shooting and trying and shooting and trying and FINALLY came up with a winner....

Springfield's XDM .40 cal match grade barrel. Sometimes you have to test a whole heap before you get your answer.
